Who is FRC?

FRC Mission

The mission of the Florida Respite Coalition is to strengthen the caregiver and the family’s ability to manage the on-going demands of caregiving.

FRC Vision

The Florida Respite Coalition envisions a coordinated and funded system of Lifespan Respite Care in the State of Florida which supports providers, families and caregivers in their ongoing responsibility of caring for loved ones with disabilities or special needs.

History

The Florida Respite Coalition formed in 1997 as a grassroots effort to respond to the serious need for respite care for families in need. The coalition’s goal is to help develop quality respite care programs and help those who care for individuals with disabilities or special needs locate respite services in their communities.

The coalition was awarded 501(C) 3 non-profit status in 2001 and serves as an information and referral source for respite care in all 67 Florida counties. FRC is the primary respite coalition in Florida. The Florida Respite Coalition is registered with the State of Florida and is incorporated as a private non-profit organization.
